Description: |
This short, rambunctious piece makes a great concert opener. The text, from a 16th-century "commonplace book," warns everyone attending Christmas festivities that they'd better be prepared to add a song or game to the entertainment... or else it's off to the stocks with them, and THEY'LL be the entertainment! The piano part is demanding, but can be turned into a duet, with one player taking the treble staff and another the bass. The accompanying audio file is the recording by Elektra Women's Choir, for whom the piece was commissioned, with the composer at the piano. |
