| A setting for soprano solo and acappella SSAA choir of a lush and sensuous sonnet written in 1928 by the Canadian-American poet Elizabeth Bishop; based on my earlier setting of the same text for TTBB choir and string quartet ("Sonnet", also available on Musicaneo). The accompanying audio file, used with permission, is the live recording made at the work's premiere in May 2019, and features Canadian soprano Suzie LeBlanc with Vancouver's award-winning women's choir, Elektra. |
